Truly? What lovely serendipity! If you wouldn't mind lending a hand, then, please visit my and Chris's abode when you are available. I have the alchemic circles prepared in my workshed. It shouldn't take up too much of your time.
Of course. I'm happy to help, Rinea-san. I'll be over later.
[And so, some indeterminate time later, Ichiro arrives at Rinea's front door. It's been a while since that freezing day she rescued him, but he still remembers how to get to her place well.]
Mister Ichiro! It's lovely to see you again. [And he looks much healthier than the last time he was here. Rinea beams up at him.] Thank you so much for coming. Please, this way.
[She leads him to the shed; it's much easier to see this time, not buried under feet of snow.]
A man named Tsumugi opened a gardening store recently... I've wanted to give him a gift for it, you see.
[The workshed is decently sized. Potion brewing tools and cauldrons are on one side of the area, alchemy ingredients on shelves at the other. A case of finished potions sits waiting just inside the door, but most interestingly is an unassuming watering can placed in the center of a chalk-drawn alchemic circle on the large table at the far end of the shed.]
It's a little late for a housewarming gift, because the spell has taken me some time to perfect... but still.
[Ichiro walks in and he's mystified by all the tools and contraptions within the shed. He knows nothing of potions or alchemy in this place, so it's really fascinating to see. Of course, the watering can catches his attention right away. It's out of place amongst everything else, but once Rinea speaks it all makes sense.]
Oh! You know Tsumugi-san too? [Why does he suddenly seem like a puppy who just heard his owner say "walk"?]
I think he'd really appreciate anything! What's the watering can gonna do?
[It's rude to laugh at people, but Rinea can't help but smother a giggle at how much Ichiro lights up.]
Yes, I've known him for some time now. [She's actually more familiar with his partner, but they're a package deal sort of thing.] You seem quite fond of him, mister Ichiro! What a lucky coincidence.
[Rinea turns to the watering can, gently unscrewing the sprinkler cap off of the spout and turning it over to show Ichiro a magic circle carefully etched into its underside.] I want to enchant the watering can to be self-filling. Well, not quite self-filling... the can will be empty, but when you tilt it downwards, it will magically pour water.
[She looks a little embarrassed, suddenly self-conscious about the idea.] I'm not a very proficient gardener, so maybe it's silly, but... Don't you think that would be grand?
[For what it's worth, her giggle doesn't come off any differently than her normal charming giggles. Ichiro doesn't think anything of it.]
That's a great idea! Whenever I helped with gardening back home, going back and forth for water was definitely one of the challenges. [Granted he was mostly helping grannies who couldn't carry such heavy watering cans to begin with, but his point still stands. Going back and forth was a pain so having one that always magically pours water will surely be nice.]
[Rinea replaces the cap, centering the watering can back on the larger magic circle.] I'd like you to cast a water spell into this sigil here. The magic circle should be able to perpetuate it afterwards. --Well, if I wrote it correctly, anyway...
[Uh, but if he pours in too much power the water spray might end up more like a power washer than a watering can. It's fine!! Trial and error!!!!!!]
[It would be peak comedy if he ended up pouring too much power into it, but luckily for them Ichiro has been focusing on his fire magic more than anything else.
If anything, he's worried about not putting enough power into it.
Mumbling a short verse that I'm not writing, Ichiro draws moisture in from the surrounding area until it forms a physical bubble in his hands. It seems to evaporate as it is absorbed into the sigil after that.
[In a parallel universe somewhere, Rinea and Ichiro accidentally made a fire-ing can.]
Yes, it ought to have been correctly applied. Let's see...
[Rinea steps forwards to complete the final alchemy symbol with a piece of chalk. The symbols and circle light up in response, shining brightly for a moment before disappearing into the can with a ruffle of wind. (The basic circle carved into the table remains; it seems to act as a guide for the chalk to save time.) Exciting!]
There!
[Rinea takes hold of the watering can's handle, but hesitates before she actually picks it up.]
[Rinea meets his smile with a merry one of her own. Ichiro's almost-disappointment at the lack of excitement was kind of... cute? He's so tall and independent, but he really is just a boy sometimes. It makes her want to spoil him.]
So it does! [Rinea claps a little, delighted.] What a relief it is to succeed. I couldn't have done it without you-- I think mister Tsumugi will be thoroughly pleased!

I... I'm almost nervous to try it.

Maybe I should try it?
[What if it, like. Explodes water.]

Hee hee! Hold on. Let me clear the sink.
[Moving all of the drying potion glasses to a shelf is at least easy with telekinesis.]
All right. Go ahead, mister Ichiro!
[If she stands halfway behind Ichiro for cover, he will have to forgive her.]

[Ichiro holds out one arm to further shield Rinea from any potential spray back and tips the watering can over the sink...
Only for it to pour a perfectly average amount of water from the spout.
He deflates, shoulders sagging, but he's smiling when he turns back to Rinea.]
It worked!

I'm happy to help whenever you need it. I consider both you and Tsumugi-san to be g- friends, so... really.
[He wants to say good friends, but doesn't want to be presumptuous...!]
